Seller Central: Payments Reports The Date Range Report Cheat Sheet

Amazon Seller Central Business Value

Amazon Seller Central Payment Reports

Section 4: The Date Range Report

Cheat Sheet

The Date Range Report Overview
• The Date Range Reports page generates individual transaction reports and summary reports for orders within a specific range based on the date you marked the orders as shipped.
• A Date Range Report can include the Federal Automated Clearing House (ACH) Trace ID assigned to your fund transfer.
• If it has been more than 5 business days since Amazon initiated the transfer, your bank can use the Trace ID to research the status of the deposit.

Creating the Date Range Report
• To create a “Date Range” report, select “Payments” from the Drop-Down Menu of the “Reports” Tab on the Top Menu of Seller Central.
• On the next page, under the “Date Range Reports” Tab, you can create a report by clicking the “Generate Report” button.
• A Pop-Up Window will appear where you can select the report type (either “Summary” or “Transaction”).
• You can then select the Month of the reporting range from the Drop-Down Menu available.
• Or you can select your “From” and “To” dates under the “Custom” option.
• Click the “Generate” button to create your report.
• Your report will appear in the table on the page with the Status “In Progress”.
• Click the “Refresh” button until the Status has a “Download” button available for you to click and then download your report as a .csv file, noting that reports can sometimes take up to an hour to generate.
• Alternately, if you wish to locate a specific transaction, you can simply type in the order number in the text block available alongside “Find a Transaction” to view the credits, fees, and adjustments for a specific order.
• You may also have already generated the report but just need to re-download it as you may have misplaced it or the file became corrupt or lost on your computer.
• You will then be able to locate the file in the table on this page and can regenerate it by clicking the “Request Report” button to the right of the specific report you would like to download.
• Your report will appear in the table on the page with the Status “In Progress”.
• Click the “Refresh” button until the Status has a “Download” button available for you to click and then download your report as a .csv file, noting once more that reports can sometimes take up to an hour to generate.

Understanding the Date Range Report
• In order to understand the Date Range Report a little more clearly, let’s look at the columns that appear in the report once we have downloaded it.
• A Transaction-level Date Range Report can include the following columns but note that columns in the report might vary by country:
     * Date / Time, which is the date/time associated with transaction.
     * Settlement ID, which is the settlement group associated with the transaction.
     * Type, which is the transaction type which includes orders, refunds, fees, transfers and adjustments.
     * Order ID, which is the ID generated when a customer places an order. (if applicable)
     * SKU, which is the product SKU associated with the transaction. (if applicable)
     * Description, which is the product description associated with transaction.
     * Quantity, which is the quantity of product in customer order.
     * Marketplace, which is the marketplace of sale.
     * Fulfillment, which is the fulfillment method, i.e. seller-fulfilled or Amazon-fulfilled.
     * Order City, which is the city where customer order will be shipped to.
     * Order State, which is the prefecture where customer order will be shipped to.
     * Order Post Code, which is the postal code where customer order will be shipped to.
     * Tax Collection Model, which is the model by which Amazon collects taxes owed to tax authorities. (if applicable)
     * Product Sales, which is the amount of your sales for product in the associated order.
     * Product Sales Tax, which is the sales tax collected from consumers for product sales.
     * Shipping Credits, which is the amount paid by consumers for shipping.

     * Promotional Rebate Tax, which is the sales tax collected from consumers for promotional rebates.
     * Marketplace Withheld Tax, which is the amount collected by Amazon to
remit to tax authority. (applicable in Mexico and certain jurisdictions in Canada and US). Amazon is a marketplace facilitator for third party sales facilitated through the Amazon store and is responsible to calculate, collect, remit, and refund sales and use tax on orders shipped to a jurisdiction (state, county, city, district) that has enacted marketplace facilitator or similar laws.
     * Selling Fees, which are the fees charged for Selling on Amazon, including variable closing fees and referral fees.
     * FBA Fees, which are the fees charged for order fulfillment, including variable closing fees and referral fees on orders fulfilled by Amazon.
     * Other Transaction Fees, which are other fees charged for Selling on Amazon, including sales tax collection fees, per-item fees, and referral fees.
     * Other, which are other adjustments to your account such as disbursements Total, which is the change in your seller balance as a result of the transaction.

Uses of the Date Range Report
• Like the other payments’ reports, this is again a very useful report for reconciling payments you have received from or had to remit to Amazon.
• These reports are great to download for each month, as opposed to the weekly reports you get from Amazon in the Transaction, Summary and All Statements Views, as often months end in the middle of a week.
• The Date Range Report allows you to download transactions for one month alone, assisting you in reconciling your own systems on what you have actually shipped, what returns you have received that have not yet had refunds and knowing what your monthly contributions are to Amazon by way of referral fees, shipping costs, etc.
• Another very important report for the Seller.
